Privacy Policy

Cipher is a free, daily puzzle game. We take your privacy seriously and collect only what's necessary to understand how the game is used.

What we collect

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage data, including:

• Pages visited and time spent
• General location (country level only — your IP address is processed temporarily by Google to determine your country, but it is masked and never stored or visible to us)
• Device type (mobile or desktop)
• Browser type

We do not collect your name, email, or any information that identifies you personally. All data is aggregate and anonymous.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your data
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not track you across other websites
• We set no cookies of our own — only the Google Analytics identifier described below, and only after consent where consent is required

Cookies and consent

Google Analytics uses a small identifier cookie to recognize repeat visits. If you are in a region that requires consent (EU/EEA/UK), analytics stays off until you allow it via the banner shown on your first visit — and the game works exactly the same if you decline. Your choice is stored only on your device and can be reset by clearing the site's browser data.

Local storage

Your game progress (streak, solve history, puzzle state) is stored entirely on your device using your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device and we never see it.

Third parties and Opt-Out

This site uses Google Analytics with personal tracking disabled. Google's data practices are explained in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

If you wish to opt out of all Google Analytics tracking, you can download the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
